From the 6th to the 9th of June 2017, the fifth ECOSTAR mobility exchange took place between Forest Design and the Technical University of Madrid (UPM). Bogdan Candrea, from Forest Design, reports on his exchange:

Upon their arrival in Madrid, Mihai and Bogdan were warmly welcomed by Carmen Aviles and Martin Giménez from UPM. The programme had been planned and communicated prior to arrival and there was a full week of events to take place. The week was intense, but very relevant.  Bogdan was able to share his experience on entrepreneurship in natural capital business, especially in forest inventory and biodiversity assessment from Forest Design.

On the first day, the experience was shared with UPM, the following days all involved meetings with different companies that all contributed to increasing Forest Design’s network and opportunity. One of the most useful lessons learned was the collaboration between UPM and a company called Agresta, indeed, Bogdan described this as “a very good model that can be replicated in Romania”.

To sum up, the experience gained within this mobility improved his insight on business in natural capital. The new ideas will be a very good start to develop new business opportunities in Romania and EU.
